Step 1: Read the following scenario:
Hospitals collect data about both inpatients and outpatients on a daily basis. Statistics are used to monitor daily, weekly, and monthly trends. As one of the members of the Quality Committee, you are being asked to prepare a presentation to explain the hospital statistics that are most frequently analyzed at your organization.
Step 2: Through professional research and your own personal work experience, address the following items and create an 8- to 10-slide PowerPoint presentation using one of the following points as your focus of research:
- Define the main types of statistics used within the healthcare field
- What statistical analysis will you be using for your presentation
- Why did you choose this particular method for presenting your data
- Topics:
- Inpatient Census and forecasting an annual census
- Length of Stay and forecasting this annually
- Hospital Death rate and forecasting this annually
- Hospital Infection rate and forecasting this annually
Step 3: Compile your research and create a professional slideshow that adheres to APA guidelines. Your presentation must include the following:
- 8-10 slides
- Title slide (not included in 8-10 slide count)
- Reference/works cited slide (not included in 8-10 slide count)
- Notes provided within the notes section of each slide
- Proper APA, in-text support on each slide and within the notes section
- At least three outside scholarly sources
