Oregon is 1 of 5 states that has this law and it is an end-of-life option for mentally competent, terminally ill patients with a prognosis of six months or less to live. It enables the use of prescription medication from a physician that is self-ingested and ends the dying process if it becomes unbearable. I have attached an article link regarding this case.
